Project: Asphalt Shingle Roof - Repair
Quinn's Construction redid our leaking roof, replaced
three rotting wood dormers with Azek trim and new
siding, replaced and repaired two copper gutters, did
mortar work to fill cavities in three of our chimneys,
and replaced a large section of flat rubber roof. They showed up at my condo building in Charlestown
to put in one of five bids for the job and I chose him
because of his thorough description of the process,
materials, time to completion, and, of course, price.
His personality was a bonus, he's an easy going guy
that clearly knows what he's talking about and does
what it takes to get the job done to his client's
satisfaction!

I dealt only with Thomas Quinn
throughout the process. I had two other professionals
out to assess the job, and neither of the other two
provided the degree of detail that Mr. Quinn did,
including actual samples of the materials he intended
to use and the reasons for using them. His work was
on time, he cleaned up very well after the job, and
his charge was very reasonable. I highly recommend
Quinn's.

Project: New Flat Rubber Roof - RPI
Quinn's
Construction installed new RPI flat rubber roofs on
four kitchen ells at our condominium in September,
2010. This involved completely removing several
layers of existing roofing, and we are most pleased
with the results. In addition, we now have a 15 year
warranty from the manufacturer for both materials and
labor, which means the manufacturer's rep came here
and approved the installation.
Tom
Quinn explained the process thoroughly, and was
willing to time the project to fit our needs. We will
be hiring him soon to replace some trim and shingles
on our building, as well. He is easy to work with and
we would recommend him to anyone needing a dependable,
professional home contractor.

Everyone I dealt with at
Quinn's was very professional and courteous. They
repaired a small area of our roof hoping it would fix
the leaks we were experiencing. When it didn't, they
replaced the whole roof. Their pricing was fair and
they even sent over guys to clean the snow off our
roof (without charging us) to prevent further water
damage before we could start the entire roofing
project. They called to follow up and has
offered to send another cleanup crew to our home this
spring once the snow melts. I would recommend them
without hesitation.

Quinn’s

and his crews were very professional and courteous.
All details were covered in the contract. Tom
provided samples and detailed information on materials

satisfied. He went above and beyond to complete this
job, and actually scheduled the job around our
vacation and a rainy season. He is quick to respond
to calls and questions regarding the job. The job
came in on budget. All of the items on the final
“punch list” were addressed with great quality and
timeliness despite a very rainy period at that point
in the weather. Clean up was perfect. We will be

I was recently faced with
the daunting task of replacing the roof on my house. I
spoke with many contractors and construction companies
about doing the work and obtained quotes and what work
would need to be done. I knew on my first visit with
Mike and Tom that they were the one's for the job.
They were very prompt to see my roof, thoroughly
explained the process and what my options were and
gave a great price to do the work.
They were the only
contractors to actually get on my roof and in my attic
to assess the full job so there wouldn't be any hidden
surprises for me. I was confident when they did the
job that they wouldn't have an over run on the cost.
Their entire crew were very courteous and left a very
clean job site. I give then five stars on service,
quality of work, and thorough explanation of the
process from beginning to end!

Roofing/Skylight Replacement & Structural Repairs
When my home needed
significant roofing replacement and structural repair
Quinn’s Construction (with Tom Quinn as Project
Manager) proved more than up to the task.
They came in with a
competitive proposal, and Tom’s quick response to
questions, attention to detail, obvious knowledge and
personality convinced me that they were the contractor
for my project. Tom and I went over the job
requirements thoroughly several times before
commencing, refining the project scope, schedule and
our general expectations and I was quite comfortable
leaving the work in his hands.
They hit the job hard
right from the start with about 15 workers and were
done in about 2 ½ days, well within the required
completion period. Tom constantly kept me updated
during construction and was always available if I had
any questions. Whenever I was on site work moved
along quite efficiently, everyone was well mannered,
knew their job and the workmanship was of high
quality. They moved dumpsters and materials on and
off the job site quickly, did an exceptional job
cleaning the project site and caused very little
disruption to my neighborhood.
I’ve worked for several
Architectural and Engineering firms over the last 25
years preparing construction documents and
reviewing/inspecting contractor work and in my case,
Quinn’s Construction performed exceptionally well.
They responded to questions and issues quickly,
provided all the services promised in the scheduled
time and they did it all at what I considered a
reasonable price. I would highly recommend Quinn’s
Construction and I consider them the front runner for
my upcoming siding & replacement window project.

The
experience went smoothly and was within the estimate
provided for both jobs. The roof due to age was more
than original estimate, but we provided with the
additional price in the estimate stage of new boards
if needed and it was needed. The roof was installed
with extreme attention to detail from start to clean
up around the property when concluded. The paint job
was delayed in start by two weeks, due to weather
delays, but once it was started the job went smoothly
and meticulously. Better not to rush and provide
quality workmanship. I am very happy with results of
both jobs by Tom Quinn's team. His prices maybe a
little higher than some, but the quality, attention to
detail and follow through is priceless. From the bid
process, materials presentation and actual job, Tom
made this experience comfortable and trustworthy. I am
a first time home owner and my fear was that there are
so many contractors who take advantage or cannot stand
behind their work or provide gross estimates. Tom was
descriptive without being over "Salesy" and most
importantly he listens. His response time with any
question or concern was rapid. He took the time to
educate me and not push to make the next sale/job. I

I
appreciated it even more because Tom gave me the
lowest quote out of five contractors, coming in

We met

good guy and we knew we were in good hands. He took
time to explain the entire roofing system and why he
chooses the top-quality materials he uses. My wife and
I weren't sure which color would look best on our

good call and suggested a favorite color which would
look good now and if we changed the house color in the

was thinking, and my wife and I are very happy with
the color. It really spruced up our home!

just finished fixing the damaged shingles. Obviously,
they did not do a good job on the roof when they built
this house 10 years ago. This is the second time
we’ve had wind damage to the shingles. I believe the
roofer was out of Lawrence and was told that this was
going to be his last job for the builder (lucky us).
Looks like they possibly had too much pressure on the
nail gun, and the shingles may have been stored
outside during the winter when the house was started
(from a local Building Supply). Your workers are
great; very polite, very thorough and professional.
We’ve also
had a sporadic leak on the rear of our roof over the
master bathroom. We had someone else fix it a few
years ago (before we found you). But, it still shows
a leak with a hard, driving rain and wind. Hasn’t
happened for a while. There is a noticeable water
stain on the bathroom ceiling. I cannot see that part
of the roof from inside the attic. If it happens
again, I will call you.
I know
when it comes time to replace the roof, I won’t have

In the
quote, they stated they would remove and dispose of
all layers of shingle, instead of the standard 2. I'm
glad I went with Tom, because I had at least 2 layers
of shingles. Other places would have charged above the
quote, but not Quinn's.
The
guys were professional, and were full-time employees
of Mr. Quinn's. This was important to me, as several
places will use day-laborers, and don't really know
the workers' skills. This also meant that he is
legitimately insured, not just the generic worker's
comp. The workers also showed up in "Quinn's
Construction" trucks, not their personal cars, which I
liked. I have kids and liked knowing who was really
coming to the door.
Originally Tom said he could start in September, but
they started-and finished in August! A process that
he estimated would take a week, took only 3 or 4 days.
The workers were clean-cut, polite, and shielded the
house from debris. They cleaned up after the job was
done - twice - just to be safe. Once was overall with
manual pick-up, and then twice with a huge lawn magnet
to catch any of the stray nails. They also cleaned the
walk-up attic with a HEPA-vacuum, because the shingle
dust had come in during the job.
I have
a colonial with a third-floor walk-up attic, a small
porch off the side, and an addition of the other side.
All are different roof angles, sizes and age. Quinn's
handled it with no problem - installed two great roof
vents, and used the best material I found out of any
other company. They also replaced any rotted or
damaged wood before installing new roofing.
Overall, I am very pleased with my new roof; it was so
wonderful to have a huge and powerful rainstorm, and
not find a single shingle on the ground! My attic is
now bone-dry and is properly ventilated, and I
couldn't be happier! I found Quinn's Construction to
be the best bang for my buck. I feel good knowing
that he stands by his work.

Very friendly, professional, competent,
and ethical service. Tom looked at a roof of ours that
is pitted and nearing the end of its life. I had
thought we would have to pay a substantial amount of
money to have it replaced. However, upon examining it,
Tom stated that replacement wasn't yet necessary;
rather, I could take a few easy and inexpensive steps
to maintain it myself, thereby adding a few more years
to the life of the roof. He then proceeded to give me
detailed instructions on what materials to purchase
and how to use them. He even taught me the correct
angle at which to position my ladder!
In short, it is not every contractor who will choose
to help you save money rather than gouge you with an
unnecessary job. Moreover, not everyone will take time
out of their day to instruct the novice on how to
perform tasks that they could charge fees for
themselves. For these reasons, I highly recommend
Quinn's Construction, and will not hesitate to
call
him again.

They
inspected and put in a new roof, and did some
carpentry.
They were competitive in terms of pricing, and did a
nice, clean job quickly. They were also very
responsive and the roof looks great

Excellent experience. Tom Quinn came to our home three
times in preparation of the job. His crew was on time,
neat & professional. Tom came back two weeks after the
job to be sure we were satisfied.
